  • Teaser: Going down like a Lead Zeppelin

Posted on June 17th, 2009 Bart No comments

Together with Kevin I’m working on a new game concept. Today I’m going to give you a very small teaser of what it’ll be.

    Zeppelin Attack

(Photo not made by us or part of the game’s artwork)

Try and guess what it is in the comments.

  • Technic City

Years ago my parents gave me Lego Cybermaster, which was the first of the Mindstorms/Robotics family of products. It included a CD that had the building instructions and some games and controls to play with your creations. This all took place in a virtual city called Technic City.

Today, I’m still impressed by the concept of this city of the future, and the excellent way Lego brought this concept to life. I love the atmosphere they’ve created. I’ve therefore dug up my old CD, extracted the cutscenes from it and compiled them to put online. I just wanted to share it with you.

  • Assassin’s Creed II, Splinter Cell and more…

This week is the week of the E3! See the many great announcements by Microsoft, Nintendo and especially Sony here. Some of my personal highlights below:

    Assassin’s Creed II

    Splinter Cell: Conviction

Too bad it’s a 360 exclusive, which I don’t have. Stupid MS with their bag of money…

    Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was a great experience, and this looks to be just as entertaining.

Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time

  • 4 new games

Posted on May 30th, 2009 Bart No comments

I’ve added four of my past games to the Games page.

    Defend Portugal

A simple online game which I developed as part of the website Portugal.nl. The goal is to defend the harbour of Lisbon from attacking pirates (Yarrr), using your tower which is full of cannons (boom).

    Galileo

Galileo is my first big game. It was a school project, and our team consisted of 40 people. It’s a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004

    Order of the Fox

You are a member of the Order of the Fox, a secret society aiming to protect and preserve the secret of Magic. Your mission is to save some other members of the order, who have been captured and are in a heavily guarded prison.

Battle for Middle-earth II: Deluxe Edition

The Battle for Middle Earth II: Deluxe Edition was a mod that intended to deepen the gameplay of EA’s Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth II and make the game more interesting.

Check them out on the Games page.

  • Galileo, the Game

Posted on July 4th, 2008 Bart No comments

Over the last three months I’ve been working on a school project, creating a game, with more than 30 people. The result of this work is Galileo, the Game (it has about 10 other names too).

The game is about a frog (Galileo) whose dad is kidnapped by a stork. He goes on adventure to bring him home, crossing through town, walking the depths of the castle and fighting the rat mob.

Keep in mind that while it’s obviously not finished, we made all this in 8 weeks! A rather big chunk of that time was then consumed by administrative and documenting work.

Below you can see our trailer and a walkthrough demo of the game.
